Who Runs the Pasco County Jail Now
Many websites still say the Pasco Sheriff’s Office runs the jail. That changed on Oct 1, 2022, when management moved to Pasco County government (“Pasco Corrections”). The Sheriff still makes arrests, but detention questions, inmate services and visitation now sit with the county.
The jail holds men and women charged with or sentenced for misdemeanors and felonies, roughly 1,400 people at a time. Its health care is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, first in 2019 and again in 2024.
Pasco County Inmate Search
Use the county’s official In Custody search. A separate “Past Arrests” search shows older bookings. From the record, note the inmate ID or booking number, each charge and the bond amount.
No result yet? Booking can take a few hours. Call us at 813.406.3111 and we will check for free.
Pasco County Bond Schedule
Many charges get a bond from Pasco’s uniform bond schedule, Administrative Order 2026-021 PA-CIR (June 10, 2026). For example, some first-degree misdemeanors without force are set at $500, and some third-degree felonies without force at $5,000. The schedule does not bind the judge at first appearance, and some charges get no bond until a judge sees the person. Under Florida’s court rules, a person who is still in custody has a first appearance within 24 hours of arrest.
How to Post Bond at the Pasco County Jail
Pasco County tells families to “work with a licensed, reputable bond agent or post a cash bond directly at the Detention Facility.”
| Surety bond (through Aftermath) | Cash bond (paid at the jail) | |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay | 10% of the bond, $100 minimum per charge | 100% of the bond |
| Refundable? | No (the premium is the bond fee) | Yes, to the depositor named on the bond, minus unpaid court costs the Clerk may keep |
| Where | Phone or online, 24/7 | At the Detention Facility, 20101 Central Blvd. |
Surety bonds go through a bondsman, not the Clerk’s office. To post a cash bond, check accepted payment types and hours with Pasco Corrections before you go.
Scam warning from Pasco County: the jail and inmates’ attorneys will never call you asking for money to get someone released. If someone does, hang up and call the jail or a licensed bondsman directly.

Which Courthouse Will the Case Be In?
Pasco splits criminal cases by U.S. Highway 41 (Administrative Order 2023-005). This applies to both felonies and misdemeanors.
| Where the offense happened | Courthouse |
|---|---|
| East of US 41 (e.g., Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Dade City) | Robert D. Sumner Judicial Center, 38053 Live Oak Ave., Dade City |
| West of US 41 (New Port Richey, Port Richey, Hudson, Holiday) | West Pasco Judicial Center, 7530 Little Road, New Port Richey |
Land O’ Lakes and Lutz have addresses on both sides of US 41, so the exact location decides. The court paperwork lists the courthouse and courtroom. We send free court-date reminders; read our court dates after release guide.
